4 Reasons why Email marketing should be used from day 1 by bloggers

Many bloggers do not consider using Email marketing as best strategy especially in the beginning but I believe it is the best strategy and it helps in giving a blogger his most important tool: Subscribers list. Using Email marketing may not be started for a while or so but you must have subscription form embedded in your blog and notify while marketing to subscribe in order to get timely notifications.

One of the main activities that smart phone users perform is Email. Many people have a constant habit of checking their inbox. Not to mention that Email marketing is one of the oldest forms of digital marketing. All other methods have their base in Email marketing. Here are 4 reasons why Email marketing is crucial for every blogger.

Reason 1: Proper usage of Email marketing will improve your targeting by increasing your delivery rate

Delivery rate is the ratio of number of mails delivered to the number of mails sent. Simply put, it will help your message reach the inbox of your target audience. It may happen that your promotion mails do not reach the customers mail box. This may be because they are blocked by spam filters or they fail the authentication check. If persistently, your mails are getting bounced, you even face the threat of your IP being blacklisted.

E-mail marketing helps you in excellent tracking and hence you can update and modify your list constantly. By retaining only active addresses, you reduce significantly the bounce rates. By keeping appropriate word to link ratio and reducing heavy size attachments, one can avoid spam filters and increase the delivery rate. You must do IP warming if required which means to steadily develop your sending reputation with little to no spam or bounces.

Reason 2: Using Email marketing, you can bring more viewers to your landing page

Using email marketing, you can creatively beautify your email and lead to more open rate and more click through rate and bring more viewers on your landing page. Bringing viewers on landing page is half work done. Remaining half has to be done with your content which has to compel them to come to your blog and share posts.

Basically, open rate is the ratio of number of mails opened to the number of mails delivered. Check your inbox, especially the promotion section. Do you open all the mails in that section or delete most of them just by looking at it? Most of us delete it.

Proper study of Email marketing will help us write mails with more relevant subject lines and with proper sender’s name, it can create sense of trust which lets more users open the mail thus improving your open rate. Click rate is the proportion of visitors who follow the hyperlink to landing page.

With proper content and message, you can certainly increase your click rate and get more clients on your landing page.

Reason 3: Because Quality is more important than quantity

I beg to differ from conventional beliefs that target all people. We should be selective in our approach. Also it does not make sense mailing 10 times a day, one excellently written mail would serve the purpose. There are many other social media platforms but believe me, Email is a medium which would sound most serious especially if we are dealing in a bit expensive products or services. One Email can target better than a couple of facebook ads or other ads. Also it is relatively cost effective than other forms of Digital maketing

For bloggers who post one or two articles a week, Email marketing is ideal. Slowly and steadily develop your subscribers list. It is not going to be so easy in the beginning but once you have developed a substantial subscribers list, it is going to be totally worth it.

Reason 4: Analyzing and updating lists using Email marketing give you more accuracy in targets

Most Email marketing tools provide excellent analysis which would be able to help you in analyzing your non interested clients. It can also help you in further segmenting the target audience. Constant updating and analysis is the key to successful digital marketing. By constantly updating your list, you can reduce the bounce rates and hence improve your performance online. It would be great to have detailed analysis which few Email marketing services like Mailchimp and Aweber provide. You can make better decisions based on it.

Next Plan of Action:

Hope, above 4 reasons are good enough for you to start using Email marketing! Some of the best Email marketing tools include Mail chimp, Aweber, Mad mimi and others. These email marketing service providers have excellent creative tools to beautify and modify your page and convert more clients. We will discuss few of them in detail in coming articles. I, personally use mail chimp but I have heard positive reviews of all 3 of them. So in your blog, add a subscription form, open account in mailchimp/ Aweber/ Mad mimi and link them and start building your subscriber list. In next articles, I would discuss mailchimp, Email marketing campaigns, content creation and developing (not buying) your own subscribers list. Please subscribe Blog Gurukul for regular updates!
